When I first heard about them I must admit, I didn’t believe it. At the same time I was immediately disappointed at myself for acting so surprised about something in this day and age. I just had to see it for myself, so opened my phone ran a quick search, and there it was… ha! a Lego chess set.
They’re more popular than you’d think too. Quite a few sell each month on Amazon, and I guess with Lego Group hitting consumer sales figures of around $8billion I guess it only adds up. Private collections seem to be on the rise too! Especially from the Lego Technic range.

Is It Even Possible To Play A Game Of Chess On A Lego Set?
Let’s be honest, nothing beats a game of chess on a nice classic wooden chess set, lined with green felt on a clean smooth wooden board, but it does the trick even on a Lego chess set. It is a great idea for the kids to keep occupied with less screen time and more hands-on time. First assembling the board, then the pieces, followed by a good game of chess with a friend.
However, having said that, it is great to use as a travel set as in most cases the pieces clip on, just like a typical lego brick which is very handy!
